We eat here regularly and the food quality, serving speed, and staff friendliness is always well above average particularly for a chain type restaurant. They have "call ahead seating" but its not necessary to call unless you visit during the peak dinner hour on a weekend.

Our family are almost what you'd consider "regulars" at this particular location. While I can't remember ever having a problem with the food (try the new Lasagna Primavera with Grilled Chicken), we are very hit and miss with the service. Working in the service industry for several years, I understand the stress of the "rush" but have less patience for the lack of service. We had completely finished our appetizer before our order had even been taken, we were hard pressed to keep water/tea filled, and while the server was happy to clear my plate (with my water) while the others were still eating, it took forever to get a check. There are some great servers at this location as well, but it seems this is the one place where we never know how it's going to go.

This might be a chain restaurant but living in Catalana the location is perfect. This is my dad's favorite place. I like that they have a good selection and they always have new items to try. Never had bad service or bad food.

Olive garden is Olive garden, the food portion have gotten skimpier and the portions smaller. Especially the Salad and Soup, what is there a bean counter in the kitchen? also, the amount of pasta they give you has gotten smaller. The prices are getting too high, i think i would rather eat home.

I have tried this one a few times. It is ok if you want pasta. They now give you a little salad at your table. I was not thrilled with that. It seems their prices go up and they amount of the food goes down. It was hot, and fresh but just ok

The service was great but the food was poor quality, the chicken on my chicken fettuccine was dry, and my meal was over priced. I won't be coming here again.

This was my first time at this location. The service we had was awesome, our waitress was polite and answered any of our questions. We had a party of four and we were all ordering different soups, she never messed up once. I ordered the Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara! It is one of my favorite dishes. My wife was happy with her meal too, her meal was a little cold though. We even asked for more breadsticks to go and the waitress obliged. Of the breadsticks were awesome as always!

Stacy was our server and she rocked. We just moved here from Cali. And everyone here is so super awesome. Kudos to you.

My family went to take advantage of the never ending pasta bowl. Our server was amazing. She kept our drinks filled, kept the pasta refills prompt. She even convinced a few of my family members to take advantage of the promotion & order more pastas to go. The food was pretty great, one of the better Olive Garden experiences I've had. It's not authentic in the least, but it'll do. The salad was dressed perfectly, & the tomatoes were super fresh. The bread was perfectly buttered. The pasta same ole same ole, but satisfies when you want some pasta. Overall I just wanted to leave a review to commend our server, I believe her name was Gretchen, she's fantastic.

Yes it is a chain restaurant but this location is great. They have the nicest , most competent staff of all the others in town I've been to. Every time we've come in has been a really great experience. This is a typical choice for nieces and nephews birthdays or when we have a pretty large group. I personally love their Mixed Grill, just about all their soups, and you have to try the zeppoli with the raspberry jam, so good!

Olive Garden is Olive Garden. You pretty much know what to expect wherever you go...at least with regards to the food. So, it often comes down to service. In this case, the service wasn't that good. They were extremely busy, I guess we were hitting the beginning of the "snow bird" season. Still they had enough staff. They looked prepared. But our server was not very good. In her defense, she did mention it was her first day. The restaurant manager should have known that and had resources ready to help her. We had to consistently ask for our server so that we could get refills...even after we had already asked for them. She very rarely was around. It was definitely frustrating. Eventually, other servers did start to step it up and we were able to finish our meal with everything we asked for.

Usually my visits are pretty good to this Olive Garden... But this last visit was pretty awful. And it might never get my family's service again. The server was rude and not friendly at all, it wasn't even busy and they didn't care to ask if we needed anything. I went thirsty at times because they didn't give us any water. My mom wanted some more sauce on her food and she couldn't find our server so she asked someone else and they told our server to get it (which is pretty dumb if you ask me) and she didn't come with the sauce for another 10min. And it was just sauce! I don't recommend coming to this Olive Garden at all and if you do don't get the server "Desire" because she could care less.

I start this review letting the world know that I am not really much of a chain restaurant person and that I am currently eating only a gluten free and vegan diet. I give two stars because the location is great, the atmosphere/ambience is nice enough (pretty much what you would expect for a Darden restaurant), and it's Olive Garden, so it is what it is. I ding the place on the following: Food (it is a restaurant, after all): I find myself at the OG because a work lunch dictates that for the good of the majority, I sacrifice my personal preferences. As luck would have it, I work with a mostly non-foodie crowd. So, OG wouldn't really be my usual thing. Also, this GF/vegan thing I am doing is a self-imposed 21 day project to figure out food allergies (and apparently test both my creativity as a foodie and my will-power and determination as a carnivore). I'm trying my best to stick to it and have mostly not cheated. Before I even get to OG, I went online to check out what they have to offer for GF/Vegan choices. To my surprise, there are actually quite a few GF options (for a chain pasta restaurant) which is really nice - kudos to you OG. However, there are very few dairy free items - oops, OG... maybe you should look into that. At any rate, I more or less had a plan that would work for me. I did the salad (the infamous endless salad bowl) with no croutons or cheese and a balsamic vinaigrette on the side to start and then I ordered the salmon (yes, I broke the vegan thing) grilled with no sauce and broccoli, however they wanted to prepare it so long as it didn't have dairy or gluten in it. The salad is not endless. Actually, you get one serving and then they take it away. Also, for three people, they only give you two pepperoncinis, and five slices of tomato and a whole lot of iceberg lettuce. Luckily, one of the three people is my boss and he kindly gives me the pepperoncini because I think he is afraid that I am becoming anorexic with this weird diet thing. Then, they drown the whole thing in dressing... so salad = meh, at best. The entree is extremely lackluster. Now, I can totally see someone reading this and thinking, but of course it was lackluster because you made them make it without sauce or any of the good stuff. While this is true, I make the mediocre judgment based almost completely on the fact that the salmon was so overcooked that it resembled salmon jerky and yet still had a weird, watery and flaccid quality - quite an accomplishment actually. I also make this judgment on the fact that the broccoli was also unmercifully overcooked and had the distinct signs of a vegetable that had been too long in the fridge (extremely close to expiration date - brown edges on the cut parts). I feel like cooking food to its correct temperature and texture is not too much to ask from any restaurant. The service also gets a ding for OG. Our server was nice but super slow. Lunch time is hard, I get it. I was a server for much of my adult life and I know that at lunch you have to bust you a$$ to make any money. Your average check is smaller, therefore your average tip is smaller. People are cranky and in a hurry to less inclined to tip well. Turn and burn is your best friend at lunchtime. I'm guessing our server comes from a rich family then. Otherwise, he was nice, as were the fleet of bussers, expediters, and hosts that brought food to us or checked on us. I just wish our actual server had been a little more timely with the check, etc. So overall, not the worst place you could find yourself at a company lunch. Still, not my first choice. I like the service and the food at Michelangelo's and Cafe Torino a lot better. Both are pretty close by and equal in price.

Because of the Yelp reviews we decided to try this place against our better judgement. The bread sticks and salad was good as they put out a huge bowl of basic salad fixings family style which is way more than the two of us could eat. Then we waited forever for the entrees. Our nice waitress apologized said that they burned the first salmon order. Well the one they brought finally was completely dried out. I had the "Taste of Italy" which had two okay pasta things (Lasagna and Chicken fettuccine) and a Chicken parmigiana which must have been frozen and had severe freezer burn. Stick to the salad and pasta and it is okay (not great but just okay) and it's not too bad but I think the other reviews are way to optimistic and misleading. This is a typical chain restaurant. Keep it simple and it will probably be okay. This is the first time I have been misled by Yelp reviews out of several hundred recommendations.

It's an olive garden. What makes this olive garden location stand out is the service. Service is taken seriously, the staff is friendly and oddly professional. The Oro Valley Olive Garden is the best olive garden I've ever visited.

I have long enjoyed Olive Garden. They have a fun ambiance and a menu with variety. And I love the endless salad. My husband was a'traveling, so mom and I (two of the usual 3 'dining trio') traipsed off to Olive Garden together. Knowing the savvy diner method to avoid waiting long for seating here, I called ahead (the "calll ahead" feature). You are placed on a short waiting list, pre-empting walk-ins. We lucked out and were seated almost immediately, at prime time dinner hour. I had the salad (and oinked on the whole bowl myself, veggie lover that I am), while mom got her infamous "only-mom-would-create-such-a-combo" soup dish (she asks the server to mix 3 types of soups into one serving for her). The server cheerfully accommodated. (Minestrone, pasta fagioli, cheese potato soups). Gotta give my mom an A+ for food artistry and creativity. We both ordered the Mediterranean Chicken, served on a bed of vegetables, with pasta. My mom got the normal order while I asked for no pasta and more vegetables (they threw in a few additional types for me). I was very pleased with Olive Garden's willingness to do that. The server was always pleasant and receptive, a great positive quality that I notice in most Olive Garden servers. The dish was really tasty, but I noticed the sauce seemed very watery, although still flavorful. I pointed this out to my server, who promised to tell her chefs. We didn't know what normal consistency the sauce should have been, and I understand how vegetables can contribute to a watery consistency. We also nibbled very lightly on the delicious fresh buttery rolls they always serve as an Olive Garden trademark. So this dining duo had a pleasant experience in the restaurant, with its fun, family atmosphere, bustling with activity and a pretty full house. It was nice to be able to drop mom at her house near by and then to zip home to mine straight after the dining experience. It's handy to have those restaurants in the Oro Valley Marketplace!

This experience far surpassed my expectations which admittedly were low due to other visits on the east coast. I'd go back without any doubts. I had a grilled chicken lasagna under 600 calories. Snowbirding in Tucson!

I ordered 2 entrees to go from this place on a sunday. It took about 35 minutes for them to prepare. When paying, the bill seemed alot higher than I expected. I looked at the receipt and noticed the prices were much higher than what I had seen on the lunch menu. The waitress informed me that on saturday and sunday it is "dinner all day", hence the higher prices. Oh. I paid and left. We had Eggplant Parm and Chicken Scampi. For $13, the eggplant was a mushy, flavorless ripoff. The chicken was about what I expect from Olive Garden. The salads that came with the entrees were huge portions of iceberg lettuce with a smidge of condiments. Later after the meal, I looked again at their website and menu and could not find anything that says "dinner all day" on saturday and sunday. I'm going to call their manager and clarify. At this point you may be thinking, "Dude, it's Olive Garden...what did you expect?". Well, I'm writing this review based on experiences at other OGs. I'm not comparing it to Vivace. Also, I'm a cheap, bitter man with nothing better to do.

The Store is new and nice, parking is abundant, and the food is Olive Garden food which is generally good quality. It is a nice place to stop for lunch because it is never too busy and the staff is friendly.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
